Hairful now...

A friend of mine once told me that in India, it is tradition to shave every little girls head, so that her hair will grow back in thicker and fuller...

We thought...

why not...

put that old wives tradition to the test, and see if it will work on an American made little girl.

We'll just have to wait and see...

She's still so beautiful!

Happy Birthday!

Here she is, one year old! I can't believe it.
Unfortunately Rik was very sick today, so the party we had planned got moved to my friend Danielle's house ( thank you ), while Rik stayed home and slept.
Everyone had a great time despite the last minute changes.
The outfit is from her best friend Ingrid, and the tutu was hand crafted by Ingrid's mom, Sarah!
The adorable sandles are from Aunt Beverly. She looks so beautiful!

The cake was buttermilk devil's food with white chocolate frosting. Rik made the shoe to go with the party theme.
I already know the candle is backwards so there's no need to point it out.

Look Hella, this is how you blow out your candle...

She's not really looking at the big cake, but rather, picking the little red spots off her little cake.
Have I mentioned how much this girl loves her food?

Finally...
getting to the good stuff!

Big Orange Ball

It's only a couple of days until her birthday, but I thought I'd give everyone a preview.

Isn't she lovely?
